Tamcoc - Trangan UNESCO Site in Ninhbinh

Trangan - Baidinh - Hoalu - Tamcoc - Bichdong complex was recognized as UNESCO Cultural & Natural Heritage Site in June 2014. How to Travel Saigon to Halong Bay

The a few ways to travel Hanoi to Halong bay from Hanoi is by land - car, bus, shuttle bus and public transportation. There is no train from Hanoi to Halong bay at the moment.

From Ho Chi Minh city to Halong bay, you can fly to Noi Bai airport and take private car to Halong bay. Or you can fly from Saigon to Hai Phong airport and take private car from Haiphong to Halong bay. There are some flights by Vietnam airlines and Vietjet air, Jet Star airline from Ho Chi Minh to Haiphong in a day. However, there are many delays for the flight this route as there are less customers. Even, there are so few customers on a flight that the airline change the flight to Hanoi - Noibai airport to avoid loss. Or they cancel the flight from Haiphong to Ho Chi Minh as sometimes the weather is bad in Haiphong, but no problem from flight from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh. It is better to fly from Saigon to Hanoi and go from there to Halong bay. From Noi Bai airport, you can take taxi to Halong bay. Travel from Noibai to Halong bay one way is ok, but two way is more expensive as the taxi will charge the waiting time while you are touring Halong bay. It is much cheaper to go Halong bay for 2, 3 days by private car.

How to Travel Hanoi to Halong Bay

How to Travel from Hanoi to Halong bay by land
+ By public transportation. There are 4 main public bus stations in Hanoi where you can catch buses to Hanoi such as My Dinh, Nuoc Ngam, Phia Nam, Gia lam bus stations. The cost from Hanoi to Halong city is about 130.000 VND about 6 USD - Sometimes up and down. However, most travelers stay in Hanoi Old Quarter. So Gia Lam bus station is the best choice. The bus do not have much room for luggage, so take as little as possible. Make sure the bus not overloaded as the overloaded ones may cause acciedents and not comfortable. The most uncomvenient is the bus do not drop you off at Bai Chai or Tuan Chau where you can find a hotel or cruise to visit the bay. The bus will drop you off at Cai Ram road. Here, you will have to take motor-bike taxi or taxi. You have to bargain or they give triple price.

+ The 2 way by tourist shuttle bus. If you book the cruise to Halong bay, some of them arrange the transportation from Hanoi to Halong bay and back to Hanoi as well. Pick up from 7:20 to 8:30 in Hanoi Old Quarter. Arrive in Halong bay - at Tuan Chau or Hon Gai. The shuttle bus is used mainly for the cruise company. If it is available, they will sell the bus ticket. But many times you could not go with this way. Noted: these tyles do not take you to Halong city as well. If you find a hotel in Halong city, the driver will drop you off at the most convenient place where you can take taxi or motor-bike to the city

+ The 3 way by private car, bus, van. It is the most convenient way to travel Hanoi to Halong bay. you will be picked up from your hotel and drop off at the hotel in Halong city or go to Tuan Chau or Hon Gai, or Bai Chay piers to catch the boat to tour Halong bay. This is the most common way to travel Hanoi to Halong bay

+ The 4 way to travel Hanoi to Halong bay is by seaplane. You have to go from Hanoi city to Noibai airport. It takes around 50 minutes and 1.5 hour before the flight departure. The seaplane lands on at Tuan Chau island. So, you should book with the cruise departure from Tuan Chau pier. If you take the cruise departure from Hon Gai pier, you will have to arrange a car/van to pick up from Tuan Chau and transfer to Hon Gai pier. It takes around 40 minutes to drive. The way back is the same - The seaplane will fly from Tuan Chau island to Noibai airport.

How to Travel Hanoi to Ninh Binh: - Trangan & Tam Coc

There are 4 ways to travel from Hanoi to Ninh Binh - the home of Trang An and Tam Coc complex - Natural & Cultural Heritage Site listed by UNESCO

- First way by public transportation. It is not convenient as you have to take the taxi from you hotel to Phia Nam or Nuoc Ngam bus station. Here, you can take seat or sleeping bus to Ninh Binh. Kindly noted: The public transportation may charge more if you have a very big suitecase or if you have 2 suitecases. It is actually not comfortable as all the seat will be taken and not enough room for your long legs. Sometimes, if it is long vacations in Vietnam, the bus will be overloaded. Sometimes, the bus has been checked by th policeman and found out that there are over 60 people on 45 seat bus. As everyone would like to go home right at that time.

- 2nd way to travel from Hanoi to Ninh Binh is by tourist shuttle bus. The shuttle bus just picks up travelers staying inside Hanoi Old Quarter. The time to be picked up from 7:30 to 8:30. But sometimes upto 9:00am as the traffic jam happens. It takes 2hours and 30 minutes to drive from Hanoi to Hoa Lu - ancient capital of Vietnam not including 30 minutes for break in the middle of the way. You will have 45 minutes to visit Hoa Lu ancient capital. Then, drive to Hoa Lu or Trang An. You have 3 hours to explore one of these places including lunch time. Then, drive back to Hanoi. If you want to stay in Ninh Binh for a few nights, you will have to take the taxi for Trang An or Tam Coc to your hotel by yourself. It sounds good but still not comfortable for a foriegner in a new country.

- 3nd way to travel from Hanoi to Ninh Binh is by train. Looking at the timetable for the train from Hanoi to Ninh Binh below, I have to say it is not comfortable to go by train from Hanoi to Ninh Minh. If you travel there for 1 day, I would like to say no 100%. If you go with the train SE 7 departing at 6:00am, you have to be at the train at 5:00am and leaving your hotel at 4:30am. It is too early for you. This time you are still in bed. If you travel to Ninh Binh for 3 days, it will be an experience to travel by train. We sometimes arrange the Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Hanoi 3 or 4 day tour package with train. From hotel in Hanoi, take taxi to Hanoi station A. Catch the train. Arrive at Ninh Binh station, you have 5 minutes to get off the train. Take taxi to your hotel. Here, we can do biking tour around Ninh Binh from 3 to 5 day trip.

The way back from Ninh Binh province to Hanoi. You will have to take taxi from you hotel to the train station to take the train back to Hanoi. Please take notes: there are very few taxi in this small city, so make sure you can get taxi for the short drive to the train station. You should be at Ninh Binh train station at least 60minutes before the train departure. Arrive back to Hanoi train station, there are some taxis inside the train station from Mai Linh taxi company. The cost a little more expensive, but Safer than many illegal taxi from outside the train station.

- 4th way to travel Hanoi to Ninh Binh is by private car, bus, van. For one person, it is expensive. But 2 to 6 persons, the shared cost will be ok for everyone. You can start and come back to Hanoi at any times. You do not have to waste your time.

How to Travel Hanoi to Sapa, Laocai

There are 4 ways to Travel Hanoi to Sapa such as public transportation, tourist shuttle bus,private car/bus and train from Hanoi to Lao cai
+ Travel Hanoi to Sapa by public transporation: You can take taxi from your hotel to My Dinh or Phia Nam bus stations. There are a few bus companies offfering the bus to Sapa. Recommend you to take Hai Van, Ha Son, Hung Thanh bus companies. The cost is around 150.000 VND to 200.000 VND/way. Please take notes: You have to tell that you travel Sapa otherwise they may drop you off at Lao Cai. Arriving at Sapa, they will drop you off at Sapa bus station. If your luggage is heavy, you had better take a taxi to Sapa town as it is 1.7km.
+ The 2nd way to travel Hanoi to Sapa is by tourist shuttle bus. The bus will pick up you around 6:30am at Hanoi Old Quarter. If you stay outside this area, you can take taxi to their own bus stop or office. The price is around 150.000 to 250.000 VND. The bus will arrive at Sapa around 13:00pm. The bus will stop at their office in Sapa pretty close to Sapa centre. As it is tourist bus, it will return to Hanoi around 14:30 or 15:00 - tourists can explore Sapa and villages in the morning. It is quite comvenient. The bus will stop in the middle for break and toilet. At the stop, you can buy something for fast breakfast, tea, coffee, sweet and local food. You can take Sapa express bus, Good morning Sapa, Go Travel bus.....
+ The 3nd way to travel Hanoi to Sapa is by private transportation. It is the most convenient. You can start to travel Sapa from Hanoi at your time and return Hanoi as you want. There are 4 stops on the way from Hanoi to Sapa for break and toilet. Many people want to go to toilet often. This is the best choice from 4 seat car, 7 seat car, 16 seat ... 45 seat bus for you to choose. It is better to choose 7 seat car than 4 seat car as the cost is very little different and 7 seat car is more comfortable for 1 to 3 persons.

+ The 4th way to travel Hanoi to Sapa is by night or day train. There is no direct train from Hanoi to Sapa. The train from Hanoi to Laocai. From Laocai, you take shuttle bus or private car/bus to Sapa. The day train from Hanoi to Lao Cai depart at 6:00am everyday. However, it is a very long and tiring journey. I strongly advise you not to take the day train to Laocai. The night train from Hanoi to Laocai departs at different time from normal to luxury style.

How to Travel Hanoi to Hue - 688km

Hue is one of the best stop for Vietnam tours Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh city. It is very convenient to travel Hue from Hanoi and Saigon.

- How to travel Hanoi to Hue: There are 5 ways to travel Hanoi to Hue in a day. So many choices for travelers to choose
+ By public transportation. From Luong Yen bus station, everyday there are 4 buses to Hue departure at 11h, 15h, 19h, 20h30 by Hoang Long bus company. One traveler is allowed 20kg of luggage.
+ By toursit bus: There are some tourist sleeping buses from Hanoi to Hue, often departure at 18:00 or 19:30pm from Hanoi. They are TheSinh, Trekking, Anphu, Hung Thanh, Camel buses. They are much better than public buses
+ Private car or bus: Departure at your time. Easy travel Hanoi to Hue + By airplane - 1hour 10 minutes: Best travel Hanoi to Hue. There are 3 or 4 flight per day by Vietnam airlines.
+ Travel Hanoi to Hue by train

How to travel Saigon to Hue

The same as travel Hanoi to Hue, from Saigon to Hue, there are also 4 ways: by public bus, by train, by tourist bus, private car/ bus, by airplane
- Travel Saigon to Hue by public bus: Hoang Long bus departs a few time a day - 11:00, 17:30, 18:30, 21:30, 7:00, 8:00. You should book the ticket before. You are allowed to have 20 kg/person. There is also Malinh, Tan Minh Phong and some others. But Hoang Long is more pouplar than other. It is tiring journey
- Travel Saigon to Hue by Open bus for tourists. There is no direct tourist bus from Saigon/ Ho Chi Minh to Hue. The Open bus will stop in Nha Trang, Hoian and Hue. It is good idea to if you stop in those destinations
- Travel Saigon to Hue by private car. Departure at your time and you can stop when you feel tired. It is a very long journey.
- Travel Saigon to Hue by air. There are many flights in a day by Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet air, Jesta pacific airline. This is the best way to travel Saigon to Hue.
-Travel Ho Chi Minh to Hue by train. There are 6 trains on a day to go from Hue to Saigon.

How to Travel Hanoi to Hoi An

Hoi An town is very small town in comparison with Hanoi and Saigon cities. However, it is one of the most popular stops for Vietnam tours Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh. There is no direct flights from Hanoi or Saigon to Hoi An. There is no train to Hoian town, either. All flights and train go through Da Nang city about 30 km north of Hoi An ancient town. It takes 25 minutes to drive from Danang airport or train station to Hoi An. Minimum stay for travelers here is 2 nights. Hoi An is the popular destination for Australian travelers as they can find what they do not have in their country.

How to Travel Hanoi to Hoi An
+ Fastest way to travel Hanoi to Hoi An is by air. There are many flights from Hanoi to Danang city in a day by Vietjet air, Jetstar pacific airline and Vietnam airlines. It takes 1h15 to fly from Hanoi. Highly recommend you to do this way
+ Travel Hanoi to Hoian by public transportation: You can go with Hoang Long bus company, Phuong Trang bus company. But I do not recommend you to do this way
+ Travel Ha Noi to Hoi An by tourist buses. There is no direct tourist buses from Hanoi. The bus will stop in Hue for 1hour or 1.5 hours in Hue. The bus departs from Hanoi 18:00 and arrive in Hoi An around 13:00pm the next day. For tigh bufget, I strongly recommend this way
+ Travel Hanoi to Hoian by private car. Comvenient as you can start when you want but the cost is very hight. It is recommend when you want to combine your Vietnam tours Hanoi to Ninh Binh, Phong Nha - Ke Bang national park - World Natural Heritage Site, Hue city tour and Hoian.
