3 days Mekong homestay tours

Day 1: Saigon - floating market - Anbinh island

8:00 Departure to Vinh Long city. On arrival, discover Cai Be colorful floating market. See the daily fruits and vegetables selling activities of barge owners. See amazing waterlife with a floating coffee shop, floating noodle shop - highlight of Vietnam tours.

Then, visit local villages to see how special products are made : Rice-net for spring-rolls, cooking salt, Soya sauce, fish sauce, sewing coconut-leaves for cottage roof, rice paper, coconut candy and pop-rice, pop-corn ....

After lunch, join the local traffic on a rowing boat on small canals to see under the skin of Mekong delta Vietnam. Then, visit a nursery garden, contact famous farmers - Mr Tiger or his son who is very successful in Vietnam agriculture. Check in at a home-stay on An Binh Island.

Amazing biking around the village on the narrow paths to to see the local farms, houses, real life in Mekong Delta.. Learn to cook really wonderful dishes with house owners. Enjoy diner. Discover local culture, people, history of this Island by talking with them. Overnight in a private room.

Day 2: Anbinh island - Vungliem

After breakfast, take a boat trip to visit brick kilns where beautiful potteries are being made by the local people. Cruise to Vinhlong market in town offering chances to take beautiful photos of snakes, fish, shrimps, prawns, crabs, rice-field rats, tropical fruits, vegetables...

Then, drive to Vung Liem in 30km. On arrival, visit a ancient Khmer pagoda built in 632 and rebuilt in 1377. Walk on ferry to Long island famous for orchard and sedge field as well as sleeping mats. Boat or bike to our home-stay. Check in, learn to make pancake - a special dish of Mekong people. After diner, join a warm conversation with local people about their life, culture, history of this island. Overnight in a private room.

Day 3: Vungliem - Vinh Long - Saigon

Start an interesting day to explore the island by biking or trekking along the village to visit the sedge field which used to make the sleeping mats. Also, we will see the whole process to cut, slice, dry sedge ( a kind of grass / weed) and wave the sleeping mats by hand. Visit the oldest tombs of parents in - law of Thoai Ngoc Hau who was one of the first people coming to Mekong Delta. Check out and take local ferry. Have lunch in Vinh Long town and drive back to Saigon
