Get way from the crowded city of Hanoi to the North East Vietnam by coming into the highway Hanoi - Thai Nguyen city. Stop in this city for a visit to Thai Nguyen ethnic musuem of all ethnic groups living in the Northeast of Vietnam. Continue driving to Bac Can province - the second province of the Northeast. Have lunch in the local restaurant. After lunch, continue your drive to Ba Be lake with stops on the ways for beautiful photos.
Passing Bac Can town, you will get through the countrysides of many villages home to Tay, H'mong ethnic people. After getting into Ba Be national park, you drive 17km to Pac Ngoi village of Tay minority in the middle of the park.
There are 3 options in different hamlets- 1st option: Stay overnight with the Tay family - homestay to experience the lifestyle and their culture. Enjoy late afternoon tea, talking with them. You will enjoy their very nice dinning - This is higlighly recommended(noted: clean room, but bathroom outside). This is the best choice for foreign travelers to Vietnam.
2nd Option: Homestay made for tourists and the clean room is with bathroom inside. You will miss some chances to closely experience the local culture.
3rd option: stay overnight hotel in the park centre.

Boarding the private boat for the cruise from the east side of the lake to the west side, you will have so many wonderful photos. Stop to take the photo of the fishman and farmers working on their field. If you love adventure, kayaking is an option for you to explore the wonderful lake.
The 1st stop for your trip is the Fairy pond, a fresh water lake on top of another lake. Leaving this fairy pond, you enjoy the cruise to Nang river. Then, cruise down stream to see Dong Dang waterfall. Enjoy some beautiful photos here.
Continue your cruise to a beautiful limestone cave. Explore the cave with the help of your tour guide. Leave the cave for the upstream cruise to the Luom pier where your driver is waiting for you. With short drive to Ra Market, enjoy your lunch at a local market before the journey to Cao Bang mountainous town. Overnight in Cao Bang.

7:30 Leave your hotel for the uphill journey to Ban Gioc waterfall. The reason why we have to depart early is the water will be blocked for the hydro-electric power plan and it does not look wonderful as it is.
On the way, enjoy a nice stop to visit Phuc Sen village - a charming village of Nung people who are so famous for blacksmithing in Quang Uyen District. Walk around the village and visit many homes to see they are making different blacksmithing products.
Enjoy the scenic landscape of Quang Uyen and Trung Khanh districts to the border between China and Vietnam. Arriving at Ban Gioc waterfall, your tour guide will check in with the frontier soldiers before you can walk to the wonderful waterfall - one of the most 3 beautiful waterfall in the world.
A short walk to the waterfall - Here, your tour guide will arrange the boat with local rower and you will come so close to the waterfall for wonderfull photo. You are also on Quay Son river - half of it belongs to Vietnam and half belongs to China. You can come on the waterside of China, but you are not allowed to get on land.
After the boat, you get on land on Vietnam side to see another part of Ban Gioc waterfall with the high water level. Then, enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant. Leaving the waterfall, you will enjoy the 2km drive to Nguom Ngao cave. The beautiful stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes will surprise you. It will take around 45 minutes to walk around and see the 3 km long cave with a river inside. It even takes longer with many of our travelers.
Drive back to Cao Bang town. Overnight in this small mountainous town.

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and depart to Hanoi. You can go back at the same way or take a different route through Lang Son province with a short stop for lunch in this city and visit the big market here. Arriving in Hanoi, drop off at your hotel.
