Vietnamese Dong (VND): Vietnamese Dong banknotes are available in a range of denominations, from 1,000 VND to 500,000 VND. Higher denominations (50,000 VND and above) are made from polymer, which is more durable and waterproof. Note: The old Vietnamese banknotes are made of papper and not used anymore. Sometimes bad people may give the paper banknotes to you and you do not know.
Exchange Rates: The exchange rate of 1 USD is around 24,000-25,000 VND (check for updated rates before your trip). US Dollars (USD) Although VND is the official currency, USD is accepted in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, especially in larger hotels, tourist shops, and for certain tour services.
